home sweet home

So there you are...back with both feet on the ground. Speaking my own language again, trying to pick up my old life (or at least what's left of it) and cherishing the memories of the past three months that have been such a wonderful experience to me.
Can hardly believe it's over now.
Can hardly believe I'm back again.
And yet, at the same time it already seems to be a distant past...

time can be a cruel deceiver...


Some last experiences back in Peru:
Just a few days before I flew home I fell sick of food-poisoning. They say you have not really been to South-America when you have not been sick, so that was just right on time
So my trip with Jesus to the Ballestas island was postponed a little bit, but we went after all and took a boat to see all the interesting animals (pinguins, pelicans, seals etc.). I was not feeling completely healthy yet, so the naucsiating smell of the bird-droppings in combination with the rocking of the boat were a bit too much, but seeing all the animals was worth it!
Also the wine-tasting we did afterwards was good, and after Jesus went back to Lima, I went sand-boarding which was absolutely great fun!! I really sucked at it, but had a great time nevertheless!

So, well, that's it! The end of my trip and therefore of my travel-journal as well. The web-site with pictures will be maintained though, and I will put more pictures on it (not just of this trip) later on. Hope you had as much fun reading as I had writing, and I definitely do hope this is not gonna be my last big trip abroad!!
